Japan meets Tyrol

For a luxury cosmetics house such as SENSAI, product communication alone cannot carry the cultural codes, rituals and philosophy behind the brand. The opportunity was to translate its Japanese identity into a physical experience for a highly selected audience, in an environment far removed from conventional beauty retail.
The value gap
Japanese luxury carries codes — ritual, restraint, craft — that product communication and conventional beauty retail tend to flatten.
My Role
I conceived the event and developed the experience around SENSAI — concept, guest journey, brand integration and the translation of Japanese cultural cues into a two-day programme in Tyrol.

The Idea
Do not explain Japan as part of the brand story. Let the audience experience it.
Outcome
A two-day immersive brand experience in Tyrol connecting SENSAI’s heritage, products and rituals with an exclusive audience through hospitality, environment and personal interaction.

TASTE ECONOMY LENS
Two code systems — Japanese ritual and Alpine hospitality — made legible in one experience. The value was in the translation.
